EN-History

In the forties, Juan Ruiz Campos, founder of the company, started with the exchange of charcoal among Ágreda (his origin village, in Soria) and Zaragoza. Because of his activity, he bought the wooded mounts of the area of Luesia and Uncastillo, to convert them into charcoal and to sell them later.
The Zaragoza- Ágreda transport, he did it with a cavalry pulled by two horses, therefore the trip lasted more than one day.
In 1942, he changed his home, to live in a village nearer to the capital, precisely to Pedrola, about 38 Km from Zaragoza.
In 1955, he bought his first truck, which one it was called its "the Russian", because it was the same as the Soviets used when they came to Spain.
When he had the truck, continued with the coal's business, but now had also coal store in a few village near Pedrola, for the public's sale.
In that time, he made also Soria-Zaragoza-Valencia tours with anothers freights.
As info to indicate, Juan Ruiz had never driving licence, because of that he needed always a driver. He was copilot and helped in the tasks of loading and offloading.
In 1959, a truck brand Barreiros was bought, and he sold the old truck.
At that time, the business of the coal was not very prosperous in Spain, and because of he opened doors to another class of transport some years before. He focused on the freight transport, mainly sheep's dung(sirria) from Pedrola to Castellón. He sold the dung in Castellón and bought oranges to sell them in Zaragoza. During six years, this was the main activity of Juan.
In 1965, in Pedrola, a plastic bottles company (Industrias plásticas F.R.A.M.) was opened. Juan Ruiz started to work as hauler, leaving the rest activities which Juan dedicated previously himself.
The go-trips, he did them full of plastics' bottles and for the back-trips he must looked for load til Pedrola.
In 1966, his old son, Santiago, started to work as chofer. In turn he purchased a new branded truck Pegaso Comet since this had bigger load capacity than the previous one.
In 1968, he bought another truck of the same characteristics as the previous one and another chofer was hired.
In 1970, he bought another truck again and hired a third chofer. In turn they worked frequently for:
  • INESPO (foam)
  • POLIGLAS (insulating)
  • F.R.A.M. (main customer company)
In 1972 he bought a truck Pegaso, a little more powerful than the previous ones and which was driven by the Juan's middle son, Fernando, with what four trucks already added.
In 1979 the company suffers a great change with the entry of Jaime, the small son. Juan decides to change the social denomination of the company passing the possession to his children, in three equal parts; from that moment the company changed to be called "Hermanos Ruiz S.L." the founder remaining in the company but without exerting the management.
In the same year it started to be worked for Rest industries, dedicated to the mattresses, which at present is one of the main customers of the company.
In 1983 another gyration in the company took place, replacing the oldest truck by a new one with towage. Little to little, and at the rate of one per year, the old trucks kept being renewed for some new ones with towage, and extending the fleet afterwards until they arrived to ten trucks in 1993.
In this same year, also it started to be worked with:
  • Sergio Sabadell (acrylic guata)
  • SIMAPA (foam)
In 1993 the company suffered a great crisis, as enters in bankruptcy its main customer "Plastic Industrias F.R.A.M." leaving Hermanos Ruiz S.L. some non-payments superior to ten million pesetas. That seemed a great backhand|setback for the aspirations of the company meant later the promotion of the same one, thanks to the spirit of improvement of the three brothers that dedicated themselves to the company during some time without receiving because of that any economic compensation.
  • The great jump was the international traffic with:
  • Expediton Schnellecke
  • Dinamit Nobel (Automobile industry Company)
  • CENTER (footwear Illueca)
  • ROTH (Plastics Coatings)
On the other hand, in August of the same year Juan Ruiz, founder of the company, died which meant a big pothole for the family as well as for the staff of the company.
In 1994 they were changed with other facilities for rent of 12000 m2 of location and 1500 m2 in an industrial plant for storage, with workshop and property offices of "Logistics and Service Ruiz S.L." in Pedrola
Today the location is around 22.000 m2
